Land Preservation

This land is one of only five Longevity valleys in the world. Located in Southern Ecuador, South America, in the Province of Loja, it is called Vilcabamba Valley. Known as “The Sacred Valley of Longevity”, its inhabitants live to over 100 years of age. This ancient Indian land dates back several thousand years to the cultures of the Inca, Chumu and others. During that time it was a ceremonial valley where ritual and prayer ceremonies were an important part of everyday life. The valley is a Sacred Gateway to the Rain forest and the cultures of the indigenous people of Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile.

Vilcabamba is located 4 degrees below the Equator, in a subtropical climate. The elevation ranges from 4,600 to over 15,000 feet. The soil is rich in minerals and volcanic matter. This unique land contains hundreds of varieties of rare medicinal plants and nutritious edible food sources. The land also contains rare species of exotic birds and animals.

Several years ago the valley land and its people’s way of life started to change because of commercial tourism, chemical sprayed agriculture, and logging of the land by commercial cattle growers. Today the people’s way of life, culture, and their land are at a critical turning point.

The I.E.E.N.I. Foundation is in the process of purchasing a substantial number of acres in the Valley. Our Foundation is offering a Tax Deduction to donors who help purchase this land and create a Land Preserve. This Land Preserve will be used for: sustainable agricultural projects, solar projects, natural healing facilities and cultural education programs for the indigenous peoples.

Some of this land will be set aside as a wild animal preserve and an exotic botanical nursery, which will preserve and grow medicinal and edible herbs, spices, vegetables and varieties of native fruit trees. Make a Tax-Deductible Donation to the IEENI Foundation
